It's something Ive been fascinated with since I was a little girl, but never thought that I was capable of doing; witnessing with my own eyes the aurora borealis [the northern lights!]
"named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for north wind, Boreas, by Pierre Gassendi in 1621. The aurora borealis is also called the northern polar lights, as it is only visible in the sky from the Northern Hemisphere, with the chance of visibility increasing with proximity to the North Magnetic Pole." - wiki
A little too far fetched? That's what my roommate said. But I will see them one day...hopefully. It's just so interesting to me, how can mysterious light just appear so vibrantly. Sure I know the scientific reason, but i want to see it for myself. Am I crazy?

No way! The Northern Lights are what dreams are made of! I have wanted to see them since i can't even remember when. I have a few friends from Alaska who are always talking about it and i get so jealous. They're simply amazing, and there's no other way to describe it. Plus, there's polar bears around that neck of the woods. I don't think that it gets any better than the combination of those two. I'll witness them before i die or else i plan on having a stern talking to with God.
ReplyDeleteI. Cannot. Believe there is another person who wants to see them as bad as I do! it will be an amazing experience Im sure.
